DC (Air Cooled Disc Clutches and Brakes)


* Torque capacities up to: 2,061,000 lb·in 233.000 N·m Airflex DC clutches and brakes are available in single and multiple disc designs. They feature a favorable torque to size ratio and low inertia friction disc assemblies.

* Used in metal-forming, power presses, press brakes, shears, tension brakes, and emergency stop on unwind.

* Available in single and multiple disc designs. * Low torque to size ratio and low inertia friction disc assemblies. * Used as pressure actuated clutches or brakes. * Pressurizing the cylinder causes the piston to clamp the friction disc assemblies between clamping plates. External springs assure positive disengagement. * Available in five basic sizes. * The number of friction discs and the disc diameter in inches indicate sizes. * Low inertia friction disc assembly reduces the overall inertia that must be started or stopped. Optional split friction discs are available allowing removal of the discs without disturbing other components of the drive system.

* Requires no external lubrication. * Physically smaller than most other type clutches and brakes with the same torque capacity.
