About Power Grip and Power Grip PO Clutches – Ideal for the oil field and a general range of industrial applications, including woodchippers, recycling shredders, road planers and crushers, and dredges, the WPT industrial clutch provides hydraulic or pneumatic actuation. Power Grip clutches are designed to work with in-line mounting, while high-speed clutches will withstand severe conditions when mounted to internal combustion engines. The Power Grip clutch also incorporates a major design improvement: the wave spring, which replaces coil springs. One wave spring is sufficient to replace many coil springs and assembly is easier as it requires no special tools to assemble the clutch on the shaft. Using wave springs in concert with “extended teeth” hubs also reduces maintenance.
When constant heat and extreme heat braking is in play, water cooled brakes are required. WPT makes these industrial brakes, needed when large thermal loads need to be dissipated. WPT water cooled brakes are ideal for use with forestry/logging, anchor-handling and towing winches, dynamometers, mooring winch systems, and petroleum tension brakes and drilling equipment. Available in the piston actuation or the airtube design, these high-heat brakes feature copper surfacing for durability and optimal heat transfer.
The Airtube advantage: A reinforced neoprene airtube comes standard with all WCB units and is designed to respond to minimal pressure changes while adding no resistance to movement, which means WPT water cooled brakes are more sensitive. The airtubes resist corrosion without needing additional protective coatings and thus work well in harsh and marine environments.
